Out of bed on the wrong side.

Scotland is wintry and raw.

In town there's no snow - yet. The pavement outside the front door free of ice.

A desk has been set up in a room downstairs by the Swedish delivery men. This becomes the de facto home office. All the workmen try the desk chair and announce that it's comfortable. '' You'd no believe it to look at it ".

The workmen also try the dining chairs and kitchen chairs and find them comfortable '' But no as comfortable as yon chair downstairs ". ' The Font ' is reintroduced to Scots egalitarianism in action.

All goes well apart from the conversation with the fire extinguisher man who clearly got out of bed on the wrong side. The kitchen floor is painted white . The light milk paint wash on the ash floorboards is more difficult to match. It's of the technical '' I've never seen the like " variety. The decorator has gone away to talk to a friend in Perth. '' They see all sorts of fancy things over there ".

There is an emotional and vocal reunion on 'The Fonts' return home. Bob, satisfied that he has found the missing sheep, falls into a deep sleep from which he is only now awakening. Sophie, exhausted after the tribulations of being looked after by Angus, is still snoozing.

St Salvator's Chapel? Hence the claims for 12th century architecture. Still a stretch I'd say - but the inside is shaping up very 21st C!!! YAM xx

Still wintry and raw here. A friend yesterday texted me from Perthshire. "Not your sort of place Gail. Too posh!" In fact I love that part of Scotland, and hope you find the right shade of light milk wash there.
Cheers, Gail.
PS The owl book is beautiful.

Glad, that no one is missing from Bob's flog. The Gaelic word for barn owl is interesting. In French too the barn owl is sometimes called "la Dame blanche". With its heart-shaped face the barn owl reminds me of the Portrait of Mary Queen of Scots as a widow (this is meant as a compliment, for both;)) I think I will order the owl book from my book-shop. Kind regards from Basel, Luzia

Unfortunately the book is not available at either of the on-line book stores in Canada, Amazon and Indigo. Has anyone ordered from Amazon UK and is there a lot of red tape with duty and taxes? The house is so light and airy looking.

I enjoyed the first picture. I have never looked out a plane window and seen snow on the ground, thank you. As always, I am happy the pack has been reunited!
