'' Stay ! "

Scotland lose to Wales. 34-7. They play as if they've never seen a rugby ball. Even worse they seem to give up after the first fifteen minutes.  'The Font' cheerfully informs Angus that the score '' wasn't too bad ". Angus harrumphs. Harrumphing is something my father did. Now I do it too.

The young baker has an array of cakes. Angus buys a Lemon Meringue Pie. Solace food.

At the trendy cafe a pair of well behaved dogs. An older one and a puppy. Both lie completely still under their owners table. Not a whimper passes their lips. This stands in stark contrast to the PONs who devour a quarter croissant noisily, fidget, lick their paws and finally emit " I'd like to go and play with them " whistling noises. Thankfully, the owners of the well behaved dogs soon leave. They stop outside the cafe and practise ' sit' and ' stay' commands. Both dogs are perfect.

When we're finished Bob, Sophie and Angus head out to the car park. Angus gets the angelic duo to sit on the cafe terrace. A customer leaving the cafe opens the door and then leaves it open. The PONs hurtle inside and position themselves - angelically - facing the young lady behind the croissant counter . French coffee drinkers by the window observe a clearly mad foreign man standing outside shouting ' Stay ! ' to two disappearing shaggy dogs.  Angus makes a mental note that the next time we'll have Goldens.

On our way home signs that the farmers have started to barricade roundabouts on the back roads. Tyres and lengths of cable piled high. The tarmac hastily repaired from where it's been set alight.

The national motorway map shows that the exit junctions that are closed are around Toulouse and Lyon. Are all the other farmers less militant ?

The angelic duo are convinced this is the best day ever. A trip in the car, a quarter croissant and a world class obedience routine that ( they think ) they've passed with flying colours.

I guess the Scots and French are in mourning today while Wales and Ireland are jubilant!

Bertie says there is nothing more boring than a perfectly behaved dog.
Gail had been regretting missing the rugby yesterday, but no longer.

I caught the last bit of the France - Ireland match. I felt for the French players at the end.

Yes, I think your farmers must be more choleric than ours in the Touraine. No sign of any action here.

The father was hurrumphing here, too. The YAMster was turning the air blue as the uniform. Neither thing should be aired in public. Even our darling Hoggie couldn't save that one. I had a behaving dog. It took work and lots of it. YAM xx

We're not on your map but were completely blocked by the revolting farmers--a 10-minute drive took 1.5 hours.
Obediency tests aside, can the PONs pass a cognitive test? Probably, all things considered.

But of course the other dogs were well behaved, from your photo they look like British Cream Golden Retrievers! We have an American Golden, both are the best! Sorry Bob & Sophie, but you are definitely cute. :)

If the PONs passed every obedience test with flying colours they wouldn't be half so much fun, and you wouldn't have much to write about !
